About me

Traveling and taking photographs often go together, to keep memories caught on film, or nowadays on digital storage. On the other side, what if the desire to take better pictures allows you to view sceneries and objects from another perspective?

I am not sure what came first for me - my passion to travel, or to keep everything well documented with my camera. In any case it did not take very long for me to realize that other exposures often looked much better than my own and of course, I had to change this.

Therefore I went back to school and started to exchange ideas and thoughts with other professionals.  Looking at the work of others, as well as receiving feedback on your own, is one of the best ways to improve. Finally I got myself better equipment, even though this may not be the most important…

Catching the perfect moment...

…involves much more than just to be at the right place, at the right time. A good setup includes perfect positioning, the optimal composition of light and a lot of patience. Some of the time that I have spent to search and to produce this perfect combination you find inside my photographs presented in the portfolio section.

„Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still“

- Dorothea Lange

„Once you learn to care, you can record images with your mind or on film. There is no different between the two.“

- Anonymous

What else

From left to right: Street scenery at Trafalgar Square in London (UK), Fish at the fish market in Thessaloniki (Greece), Gondola on the great canal in Venezia (Italy), Waiting for the bus in Florence (Italy), Beach  market on the beach of Varadero (Cuba)

Picturing static sceneries is only part of the total potential of photography. There comes the point when you try to catch a specific moment, but the available natural light just dos not want the same way you do. For me this was the point when I added a selection of flash-lights, reflectors and other lightning tools to my portfolio. With my newly gained capabilities I was now able to fine-tune my exposers with light that was not present when I found it necessary for the perfect result.

Finally there was all this equipment that I had bought for my journeys, but there was also so much time I spent at home and for sure I could not leave it unused in the locker…
